Project overview

Five custom barriers, one representative entrance

This Sarasota, Florida project included five custom aluminum flood barrier installations for residential entrances. This page presents one representative opening measuring 55.5 inches wide and 23.62 inches high.

The entrance had a non-standard condition on the left side of the door frame, making a conventional surface-mounted installation unsuitable. Eudore developed a recessed installation method that positioned the side post securely inside the available frame line while preserving a clean appearance.

The removable aluminum stop-log panels can be installed before heavy rain, storm surge or surface flooding and removed when the risk has passed, allowing normal daily access to the entrance.

Project challenge

A non-standard left door frame

The left side of the entrance did not provide the flat, conventional mounting surface required by many ordinary flood barrier systems. A standard face-mounted post would have affected the appearance of the entrance and made accurate alignment and sealing more difficult.

The barrier therefore needed a mounting method that could work with the existing frame rather than forcing the property owner to rebuild the entrance around a standard product.

  • Fit the irregular left door-frame condition
  • Maintain accurate alignment across the 55.5-inch opening
  • Create consistent compression across stacked panels
  • Avoid exposed screws across the front of the posts
  • Preserve a clean residential appearance
  • Allow quick installation and removal before and after storms

Project goal

Custom protection without permanently blocking the entrance

The goal was to supply a reusable residential flood barrier that matched the exact opening dimensions and resolved the unusual mounting condition. It needed to provide a practical alternative to temporary sandbags while remaining suitable for a finished residential entrance.

Because this installation was part of a five-project order, each system also had to be configured for its own width, required protection height, wall structure and mounting position.

Flood barrier solution

An engineering-focused approach to fit, sealing and appearance

Eudore supplied a custom removable aluminum stop-log barrier with stacked panels positioned between two engineered side posts. Three details made this installation different from ordinary light-duty aluminum flood barriers.

01

Recessed left-side installation

The left post was integrated into the available frame line instead of being forced onto an unsuitable front surface. This maintained correct alignment and created a cleaner finished result.

02

Concealed post fastening

Fastening components are hidden inside the side-post channels. No exposed screws interrupt the front faces or the primary sealing surfaces of the posts.

03

Substantial panel construction

The visible panel profiles, interlocking geometry and precisely fitted posts reflect an engineering-grade design approach rather than a thin, decorative aluminum panel system.

Project result

A clean, removable solution for a difficult entrance

The completed installation provided reusable flood protection for a residential entrance with a difficult, non-standard frame. The recessed left-side mounting method solved the lack of a conventional fixing surface while keeping the post correctly aligned.

Concealing the fasteners inside the side posts also produced a cleaner result than ordinary systems with visible screws across the front faces. When protection is required, the panels can be inserted and secured across the opening. After the risk has passed, they can be removed so the entrance returns to normal use.
